The percentage of men on America's college campuses is steadily declining. Research suggests that college women may soon outnumber college men by a ratio of 3:2. What do you believe to be the causes of this trend? Is this a problem for our colleges and universities? For our nation?

I believe some of it has to do with having a good father figure not all but some.A lot of people now are single parents and majority of them are women.Young men can relate more to a male figure a little more so than female figure and their environment. That can be part of it.Women are more bonded with their mother so if the mother wants their girls to go to school and not get pregnant. The double standard is another problem. Parents will let the boys date at a younger age than the girls because if the boys ended up getting a girl pregnant then the baby will be with the mother more so than the father of the baby.I notice in my family and other families. Not that I am saying that is the why behind people but a unconscious decision among families.

I don't think this is as severe an issue as 100 years ago when men outnumbered women on college campuses 20:1. Then again, women were consistently denied access to higher education for years.

Now that it is more acceptable for a woman to be educated, women are taking advantage of that. It's also becoming more necessary as more women are taking care of themselves and their children without relying on men compared to 20, 30, 50 years ago.

I think that many guys are attracted to initially high-paying tech jobs that they can get without a college degree if they have a certain amount of practical expertise. example computer repairs and stuff like that that women are less likely to find attractive. I suspect that they may eventually get stuck at a certain level unless they go off and start their own businesses or actually go to college later - evening school or whatever. But that's just my opinion.

This is not a problem, the numbers will even out once men find out they can meet women at college. The real problem is our failing educational system, children should natural want to learn, if they don't want to go to school, they provably aren't learning much.

Too many guys today want the short-cut to their dreams...they don't care to wait 4-5-6+ years of working on studies and earning their place in the order of life................Avoid the lazy ones or the ones who are there just to party and to just be avoiding real work.............but you should enjoy your college years, make the most of your opportunities and do not settle for a lesser GOAL or dream than you wanted. Do your best FOR YOU and the family you will have in the future-good luck-

Most men are just lazy, and do not want to do anything. They just figure that they will have a good job, because they are men!
