Honey, don't worry....this is completely normal!!! If this is your first pregnancy, you should expect to start feeling flutters by around 18-20 weeks. Everyone is completely different and some of course feel them sooner or later than that. With my first pregnancy, I felt them at around 17 weeks, and with my second, I felt them around 15 weeks. They say you tend to feel them 'sooner' the second time, because you know what you are feeling. Hope this helps you. Here's to a happy healthy 9 months.

With my first pregnancy i didn't feel any movements until at least the 20th week, not even a flutter and i wasn't overweight.
It's totally normal not to feel any movements until about that time with first pregnancy plus the weight has something to do with it also. Now i'm 36 weeks pregnant with 2nd baby and i felt the first movement at about 13 weeks but this is my 2nd pregnancy so i'm already aware of the feelings.
Sounds like your having a normal pregnancy so don't stress you should be feeling some movements in the next month or so.
Even if you asked a doctor they would tell you the same thing.

Most people don't feel their baby until about 16 weeks...I'm 12 weeks and I thought I felt my baby move bu the doc said it was probably just gas. And yes, I am a bit overweight, but doc said by week 20 I should feel some flutters and kicks. Don't worry, I'm sure your baby is fine! Have you seen him or her on ultrasound yet? If so, you saw he or she is already moving like CRAZY, just not big enough for you to feel! I don't think being overweight affects you ability to feel it from the inside, just to feel it on the ouside of your tummy, like for someone else to put their hand and feel it. Good luck!

congrats on the baby! im currently 25 weeks and although my baby flops around like a rag doll all the time i didnt first feel flutters until around week 16. now i know it was flutters but then i thought it was gas! slowly i started realizing that it was the baby. also keep in mind some babies are just more active than others! also, depending on how acurate your date of conception is you could actually not be as far along as your doc says which means you may have to wait longer to feel something. hope it helps!

I don't think that is unusual for an overweight mom-to-be to not feel any movement at only 15 wks., or even a woman of normal weight. If you're getting a fetal heartbeat, then things should be fine. I didn't feel movement with my daughter until I was about 4 1/2 months and 4 months with my twins, and I wasn't overweight pre-pregnancy. Give it a few more weeks and see what happens. If you want to ease your mind a bit, ask your OB.

I was 18 weeks w/ my first baby and I was overweight as well. But anything up to 22 weeks is normal. I'm 29 weeks w/ #2 and still overweight, but I felt her at 15 weeks. Good luck to you and don't let anyone who makes "fat jokes" get to you. My brother and father make fun of me all the time, I just have to let it go.......

well you may have felt it and not noticed alot of books will tell you it may feel like a gas bubble and thats what my doctor said sometimes your baby may not be real active maybe (it)
likes to move around at night
but your doctor will clarify this if your worried stress that the mother is going through is not good on the baby's system either for the time being you are one
and just when you think you can't wait to see (it)
give your self a couple of years that will change(HAHAHA)
ok lay flat on your back (this is not nothing rude) pull your shirt up this will put your stomach stretched out only place a pillow under your head barely enough to see your stomach
yes this is not comfortable at all but your baby may move around a bit your kind of forcinng (it) to no it wont hurt the baby i used to do this so my husband could see it kick

Its very common not to feel those first flutters till about 18-26 weeks. So dont worry. Most dont feel anything this early. If your worried about things being alright you can do what i did, www.diaperstodopplers.com rents fetal dopplers so you can listen to the heart beat when ever you want and then you know everything is ok, and than there is no need to worry. Congrats!

I'm almost 15 weeks...my dr told me that I probably wouldn't feel the baby til 17 weeks(at the earliest)...so it's still a little to early. I know people who have felt their baby at 15 weeks but it was their 2nd or 3rd pregnancy but even that was early. Wait a couple more weeks. I am also dying to feel my baby too. Good luck and congrats!!
