Tessa is a beauitful name... it is the character Rachel Weisz played in the Constant Gardener in which she won her Oscar for. Tessa is actually a nickname for Theresa and short for Contessa- which means Countess or Princess in Italian. I know two types of Tessa's. Both are very feminie - one has curly blond hair, blue eyes and very shy and precious. The other is a very exotic, dark hair girl with a deep personality. My husband and I actually love Contessa and may use it with another strong feminie name, like Lucia (which was my Grams name). So in reality our daughter would have a very royality full name that would spell out Countess Lucia. But we would call her Tessa for short.
Think about it! :)

I know a girl who is 15 with the name Tessa. I personally don't like the name. She wasn't called Tess, she was just called Tessa (no nicknames). She has fair skin and blonde/light brown hair. She is quite shy.

I love the name Tessa. It is becoming very popular though. I know quite a few children 3 and under named Tessa. Well one is Tanessa with the nickname Tessa. :)
They are all adorable little girls. One is very bad though. She does not like to listen at all. :)
They seem to all have curly brown hair too! SD

I went to elementary school with a girl named Tessa. She was unpleasant. But very cute. I think of her. She was tall and had poufy bangs, dark hair, and freckles.
The name seems like it ought to be short for something.

Personally I don't like it. It's kind of weak and wishy-washy. It's like the name you would give to a faithful dog. A girl with this name would get called Tess - even worse. This name is not unusual in Britain -1000's of people have it, some who are very old - but I wouldn't say it is popular at all: it does not conjure up an attractive girl. More someone who is average and boring, and slightly drippy

Ok..honestly, every Tessa I have known has been snotty, spoiled, or a whore. So , for me th association it not pleasent.
I do remember the first time I heard..I did think it was pretty, until the TESSA's ruined it.
