the key to everything is to be yourself. don't try to be something you're not.
I tried being 'one of the boys' because I work in a male dominated field (not many female warriors), but it turns out, they were just playing along because they wanted to get me drunk and take advantage....

Do your work well. If you put on any act, tough or feminine, you will be the loser. Men see through it and will automatically discount any work related ability that you may have.
I don't think many women realize this concept. It is in the final analysis your work that will help you get ahead. But many things can hold you back.
