I am the PROUD mother of a beautiful 6 month old...my second. While I've finally lost all of the pregnancy weight (depending on the day I'm either 1 lb over or under pre-pregnancy weight) I still have a pot belly I never had before. If I "crunch" my abdominals it i can tell there's still some muscle tone there....covered by a layer of fat and loose skin.

How long did it take YOU (with light exercise and regular crunches/abdominal exercises) to rid yourselves of this??

Also, does it seem to bloat out more when you're PMSing and/or having your period (I'm breastfeeding so I'm just GUESSING that these monthly cramps are PMS/period returning)...

It's funny -- I have noticed that the belly actually seems a bit BIGGER since i've been focusing on crunches/other abdominal exercises...

Bigger, but at least firmer. Oh well.

my youngest is 8 yrs old and even after lots and lots of exercise I still have a tummy. Some women do not ever fully get rid of it. It is from muscles that have stretched and extra skin. I myself had several ab muscles tear and if I do crunches my tummy actually looks bigger. so as long as your are healthy remember that a little pot belly can be a badge of honor because look at the wonderful children your body has created

I am there-I have had 3 kids also-my youngest 6 months-I have lost 25 pounds-and I can fit into the clothes I wore in high school! I just can't get rid of the bulge! It has went down considerably, but it is the only thing I am not happy with right now! I have read that it could take 3 years for it to go back to normal after having a child! I have been dieting and I measure around my stomach/waist to see progress there. It has been going down-but very slow! You just have to burn off the fat and hope that it is not all skin! Good luck!!!!!! When you stop breastfeeding you can diet-which is 80% of weight loss! There is no way to spot reduce fat. Those muscles you are building will look great once the gush is gone.

Try running. I have been running/walking fast for 1 1/2 months now and my 3 child tummy seems to be deflating a bit. It sucks. You see some women that go back to their size 2's a few weeks after delivering and you're working on months or years trying to get your weight down. Just keep plugging away. The running seems to be helping. Try setting a goal for yourself to run a half marathon in your area over the summer and/or fall. That will give you motivation to keep at it.

The stomach muscles usually seperate and will need to be sewn back together, not amount of exercise can fix that. Only a tummy tuck can fix the muscles when they have split.

Lower your salt intake..it bloats you
Caffenie also makes you bloat especially soda..the carbination forces your tummy forward.

I rollerblade while pushing a jogger. You don't realise it because your trying your hardest to stay up on the skates that your sucking in your stomach while skating and it also helps your inner thighs and butt muscles.

Also I would do pilates..it really teaches you well on how to do isolating moves for specific muscles
