Good question that you ask; however, you did not specify(I am Owner of a Travel Agency):

1-What dates for pickup/dropoff did you have in mind?
2-Do you have a preference as to the type of vehicle that you want to rent?

Once you have answered those minor issues, it is quite a bit easier to find a car to rent at a price that fits within your budget. Depending on the pickup/dropoff dates you have in mind and the type of car you want to rent, there should be some car rental bargains to be had.

Orlando to Lauderdale is just a few hours drive. So, depending on what kind of car you want to rent, and how long you are going to keep it, will determine the cost.

If you are just driving one way, and only the time it would take for you to get from one town to the other, I'd say you could do it for about $60.00 (economy car & gas).

If you rent a mid-size car at the airport you can get unlimited mileage for about $40. Then you would have to pay the gas yourself.
