My opinion: troll goes for anyone and everyone it can hurt; stalker picks out one and drives that person nuts.

A stalker targets specific people to harass. A troll is out to harass the site in general.

the troll lives under the bridge and waits for you to pass by.
the stalker follows you to the bridge - and you can possibly do a deal so the troll eats the stalker instead of you by pretending the stalker is your brother

A troll puts messages/replies up to get people angry/annoyed.
A stalker tries to follow a person around the categories and cause that person problems (reporting, thumbs down replies, etc).

there is often trolls on here, & they aren't clones
so they may be just annoying on here & the stalker on here would be annoying also
its not like they can catch you on here haha
so much & much the same I would say

Trolls wait under the bridge to collect toll from those who wish to cross it. Stalkers follow you everywhere you go trying to collect. Such idiots! Can't just wait.

Stalkers are usually fined/cited, convicted and/or imprisoned for the crimes they commit (i.e. homocide, harassment, etc.)
Have you ever seen a troll being convicted of a crime, fined for inappropriate behavior, or served with a restraining order? I think not! I rest my case...2 points for monogamyisgolden!
