I have witnessed numerous people burning themselves voluntarily, simply to prove me wrong. When I worked as a food server at a restaraunt, after a while, my arms and hands became somewhat callused and resistant to high temperatures. I was so used to the hot plates and coffee burns and whatnot that I never felt the pain anymore. But, when I was putting a hot plate in front of a customer, I would say, "Please be careful, the plate is very hot." And without fail, everytime, they would reach out and move the plate just a tad, to test the temperature and say, "OW!" or "Oh, thats hot, it burned me!" After a while, I would just laugh at them, which they hated, unless they were drunk, then the whole group would laugh, or I would say, "I told you it was hot." Once, I flat out asked the customer why they touched it after I told them it was very hot, and they said, "I don't know what your definition of hot is." Ridiculous.

Not hot, but electrically charged. As kids, we used to touch the wired fence where the cows were kept. The charge wasn't enough to kill you or even harm you, but it sure gave you a good jolt. We probably restarted our hearts a few times...
