Everytime someone say they don't want to live in Africa, they get a thumbs down, usually 3 or 4. Every single time. Why is this?
Do some people think Africa is a misunderstood paradise, just wonderful, safe & all the people are just lovely or are you all just plain uneducated?

When someone said there is too much disease, thumbs down multiple times. But sub-Saharan Africa has more cases of HIV than any where in the world. And add other diseases that are widespread like Malaria.

If you say it's too dangerous, multiple thumbs down. But South Africa is the most dangerous country in the world. Babies get raped. People get murdered for pure fun or maybe a cellphone. It's not safe for a woman to walk alone at any time.

And to all who think I'm wrong... I grew up in South Africa. 18 years. I think I know what I'm talking about when I say it is a terrible place to live. Why does everyone hate you if you don't want to go there?

I dont do the thumbs down depending on what the opinion is. I do like Africa, but only in the movies, Id burn up there. I have an african friend online and hes just great to talk to and loving words too.

Africa wouldnt be so bad if the nations had spent their wealth in better directed areas, like Africa, and made it a more functioning nation, and the governments have always seemed to steal from the people as we gave to them, so, it would have to be a whole nation take over to ever change it, and I dont think anybody is to willing. I had to close my eyes when you wrote babies get raped, thats just inhumane and very sick. Thats like torture, no IS torture. Babies are NOT made for that, nor formed yet. This is absurd, but I think it has happened in all countries at least once.

Unless you are RICH RICH RICH it IS a terrible place, and getting worse all the time. The governments are SO corrupt that aid doesn't get to the people. The leaders are living in grand luxury at the expense of donations from abroad and stealing from their own people.

South Africa was at the top of the heap for a long time, but now its infrastructure is collapsing and the culture is in chaos.

I think mostly these are RACIST opinions that try to defend how bad the continent of Africa and all of it's nations are.

Not bad, but just of a different opinion. Quite frankly, I don't want to live in Africa, but it appears to be a beautiful place. I don't really want live in a place where the sun shines for 13 hours a day in the summer.

It is usually only the most vocal that speak up, which quite frequently have dissenting opinions about what is being expressed. Sometimes it is warrented, other times, it is not. Calling someone crazy for not wanting to live somewhere is a bit, silly to me; however, they can foster their own opinions. Eh.

The "huts" are certainly very sensible possibilities of lodging in lots of African areas the place the climate and ecosystem make different forms of homes confusing (and especially circumstances impossible) to construct. They compliment their ecosystem. that's real whether you have confidence it or no longer. human beings additionally ask why there are no longer very many great African monuments. as quickly as returned, the situations are no longer good for such issues in lots of areas. it is not that they did no longer build such issues, this is that they equipped them out of perishable factors, so as that they have got deteriorated and vanished over the centuries. Africa has no longer been idol in its background. It has many wealthy cultures that below no circumstances have been stagnant. how are you able to declare the middle East developed lifestyle yet no longer provide Africa any credit? you do no longer see "lifestyle" in Africa outdoors of North Africa? How plenty do you be attentive to approximately Africa's background and cultures? in case you rather care to be attentive to, you would be sensible to look at a e book on African background. you are able to study plenty even via finding out on one u . s . a . and analyzing approximately its background and lifestyle.

If you don't want to go, thats your perogative. I've been to Africa, and I know the realities of danger and disease there. The danger can also be found in any large city here in the us, though. Something about it appealed to me, and after going, I felt like a different person. It's a personal decision..and btw, people thumbs down good answers all the time. Just different opinions. I don't think people hate you if you don't want to go there. I don't anyways.

I am a white guy but I would love to go to africa...to hunt...but no way in hell would I want to live there...you never know what government will take control when...you never know when some pissed off animal will try to kill you...it is know as the dark continent...that should give people some idea of how bad it is. Politically it is the worse countinent in the world and I feel bad for the true african that have to live in fear of power hungry government officials that are led by power hungry whites that arm them with ak-47's...The African men and women are the most hardcore people I have ever read about...and they are the ones that should have full control of their land and counrty

They're confusing issues by thinking you're making a statement about individuals and not the state of a nation.

I wouldn't want to live there simply because of how terribly hot I hear it is, and that has NOTHING whatsoever to do with the people who live there or their politics.

Actually I totally agree with you. There is no way I'd ever choose to live there either because of the reasons you just mentioned. Some people must be very ignorant or they're living in a deep pit of denial if they say it's a safe, comfortable place to live. Hopefully if people keep donating it'll help the women and children.

Hello Swiss person (I can read Japanese). My parents are African, and they always pressure me to visit Africa. However, it seems really dangerous and technologically backward (can't survive without my computer!) I would rather visit a place I'm familiar with, such as Japan.

Why would anyone hate you for not going to Africa? You just have a different opinion.

Because you may be fortunate enough to end up living out there. In some cultures the have this saying: "Never spit upwards." The implied lesson is that whatever you wish for may backfire.
