I am in a late-model mobile home with NO indoor pets, on 40 acres. We have somehow gotten fleas. perhaps carried in from outdoors, whatever. I have an 8 year-old son, 5-year-old daughter, and new 5 month-old daughter. I am VERY reluctant to use poison. Any homeopathic/natural remedy for ridding our house of these pesky ankle-biters?

Fleas are a major pest. There are various species of fleas - cat fleas, dog fleas, rat fleas and rabbit fleas.
You can get rid of them by the safest and cheapest methods like boric acid.

You can put a nightlight in each room of your house. Take a bowl of water and put some dishsoap in it. Swirl it around so it will mix without making bubbles. Put the bowl under the nightlight. In the morning, the bowl will be full of dead fleas.
