I don't think it will affect the outcome of your relationship.

I think you will have a 50/50 chance of seriously regretting getting the tattoo though.

I do not believe in superstition either. But a tattoo on a very visible place is not a wise thing for a profession or work life. Besides, what if you change your mind. It is very painful to remove, despite what you are told.

Now a tasteful tattoo on a more private area can be a turn on.

If you are in a marraige, that means "till death do us part" so getting a tattoo of your husbands name isn't a big deal. It in no way will curse your marraige. BUT!! I stress that word, if you have to question whether or not it is a good idea, and if you really question the ability of a tattoo to jeopardize your relationship, then maybe you're more worried that the tattoo will be around longer than your husband. As long as you're certain you're not going anywhere and neither is your husband, a tattoo to show your love is perfectly fine. My fiance and I are also planning ceremonial tattoos in celebration of our union to come. It's a great idea. Good luck

when looking at the rate of divorce in the us, i would say no, but it's a personal decision that requires a lot of thought. If you feel good enough about your husband and your marriage, go for it, or get something that symbolizes your relationship. Or if you do decide to get his name, and you do get a divorce (which i wish on no one) you could always get it covered. good luck with whatever you decide to do....the Chinese letters was a funny suggestion.

It's not a curse. But think if you get divorced. Whoever you end up with will have to look at that for the rest of the relationship. That doesn't help you any.

It's not a curse, there's no way some ink in your skin can guarantee your relationship will fail...

But on the other hand, I think you have to be very careful with it, b/c who knows what could happen and then you're stuck with his name on you forever.

No, they say that, but its not always true. I have my husband's name on my leg. Then again, his name is also the name of a famous U.S. city, so if we get divorced, I'll just tell people I love that town ;-)!

I don't believe that it's a curse to put your spouses name on your body in a tattoo, I want to get one with my wife's & my kids names or at least their initials inside a heart on my chest over my heart.

Considering the divorce rates are 55-60% now...I would NOT tattoo his name anywhere

It's a sign of devotion. If a couple are going to split up, it might help them think again if they look at their tattoos and remember when and why they got them
