Yeah...I agree. Some people close to us will agree with everything we say just to avoid tension or conflict. Sometimes this promotes dishonesty and falseness. Of course, we tend to lean towards those who always see eye to eye with us or seem to, anyway. Then you've got those who are not afraid to speak their minds and they just tell it like it is, no matter what. I think you can learn from these kinds of people, as long as you know their character and know that they are trustworthy and sincere, and they practice what they preach. Sometimes we get our feelings hurt when being the brunt of such a person's blatant honesty. But we need to think about what they say and decide if it has some merit and worth. If we can lay our pride aside and try to see all sides to any given situation...then we can learn from them. Sometimes it takes someone not agreeing with us to make us wake up and realize that we are sometimes wrong and need to change things.

In most cases I do.

Notice people hang around each other and repeat things they say alot, especially older people. It is a comfort zone to live in a place that you are familiar with.

I always like to learn about new things, stay up to date on current events, but I always seem to go back to the thing that I am familiar with.

Most of my life, I have played piano. There have been times that I am overwhelmed and I just stop playing, but I always come back to it.

Nice Observation...

AGREE: comfort comes from an affirming of our thoughts or intelligence. That we are able to guide and trust our thoughts or instincts. Growth from those who don't agree comes from the expanding of our understanding or perception to a given situation.

Agree... that is why cliques and whatnot are formed. That is why people tend to gather in segregated groups, and very seldom do people mix on a natural basis.

Agree-- which is why we need both types of people in our lives. It makes me feel good to have people who agree with me, but I only really know and understand my positions when I am forced to defend them.

I agree.

You'll always have friends among those who think alike....and you're always bound to learn something from those who don't.

I agree completely, it makes a lot of sense.

only a narrow mind takes comfort in agreement rather than disagreement ! Its challenge that makes us search harder for the answers....the most brilliant minds agree.
