That's just as well because a lot of money is tained. Taint yours and it taint mine. You should have worked at a mint...you could have made a lot of money.

Yes...it probably has built your character more than if you'd been born with money and as well you are probably a more capable independent person for it.

I don't think you happiness had to do with the lack of money. It was good parenting that did that.
