In Girl Interrupted, why did Daisy have such an obsession with the chicken?

Her father owned a rotisserie, and she said that she would only eat the chicken that her dad cooked, everything else made her feel sick. Her dad also molested her, and she was very much a "daddy's little girl." She would only eat in private because, she said, that ingesting food felt to her how excreting felt to other people.

i dont know but i wondered the same thing when i watched that movie. good stuff. but very creepy with the chicken and what not.
