Here's my laundry "recipe":

Tide detergent, original scent (not w/bleach alternative)
Downy fabric softener in the rinse
Bounce sheets in the dryer (1-3 sheets, depending upon the load size)

In my whites and in any load that has items that are especially dirty, I add 1 scoop of OxyClean.

My laundry is always fresh smelling and 99% of the time the dirty stains come out which is saying alot because I have three young children who always manage to get something disgustingly dirty!!

1. Sort - sort - sort (dark colors/cold water -- lighter colors/warm or cold water ---whites/warm or hot water)
2. Pre-treat any stains
3. Use detergent per instructions -too much is as bad as
not enough. On Whites, I usually add bleach too.
4. For smelly clothes, I like to add Arm & Hammer baking soda to the wash cycle. It's a real odor neutralizer.
5. A cup or so of white vinegar in the rinse helps get all the soap out.
6. Dry at recommended temps with a fabric softener sheet -and remove PROMPTLY.
Many clothes, when hung right out of the dryer, will not require
any ironing to be presentable. And even towels, etc. look
better when folded right away.

I always use cold water for dark colors and warm water for brights and hot water for whites. I use this detergent called Foca. I add some baking soda to each load as a laundry booster. I recommend that when you have jeans to wash them in their own load seperately from shirts because jeans are kinds rough and can make your shirts dingy in the wash and while drying. To prevent fading your blacks wash them always in cold and buy a softener or detergent made for darks. Clothes always smell the freshest when you take them right out of the dryer right away. I would also recommend the downy dryer sheets with febreeze.

Well to start you want to have a modern day Washer and Dryer. The front loaders are the best on the market if you are looking for a new pair.

For Stain treaters I use the Clorox Oxi Magic. It's a great product that gets stains out on alll colours. I highly recommend it.

For laundry detergent I use NOTHING but liquid Tide. I find it's the best. I have to use an HE (high efficiency) detergent with my washer and theres by far is the most amazing on the market. It provides superior qualilty and gets everything very clean.

For softeners I trust nothing but Downy. The offer some great scents and the new softeners infused with febreeze make sure your clothes never smell bad again. I use the Febreeze softener on my whites, the Warm Vanilla Sugar scent on my sheets, and the Mountain Spring on my regular clothes. Those are my favorite out of them and leave my wash the softest.

As far as bleach goes I use two of them. On my darks/jeans etc I use Clorox Bleach for Colours. It gets them disinfected so I know they're clean and holds their colours just fine. Then for the whites I use Clorox Regular Bleach. I generally buy the Lemon Bleach or Mountain Spring bleach. Makes the clothes smell even better.

I bleach all my whites. Wash them on hot and use a good softener. Then dry on a medium heat and take out of the dryer right after it's finished. The close will be crisp and not had sat there and wrinkled.

On my darks I always was them on cold cold and seperate them out quite well. I only wash denim with denim. If you wash denim with a black shirt it will ruin the shirt, causing it to fade and loose it's strength as the denim is hard on it so it will ruin anything that isn't denim. Keep them seperate, keep them on cold and wash on the normal cycle. (Permanent Press) DO NOT under and circumstances dry any shirts or pants or shorts that are black or really dark in colour. The dryer will fade them all. Hang them up and let them air dry. If wrinkled afterwards iron on a low-medium heat.

On lights, I always wash them on warm cold or warm warm depending on light they are and how delicate they are. Most of the lights can be dried but if it's a delicate shirt hang it up.

Irregardless of what colour my sheets are I was them ALL on hot. If they are white I bleach them and I use my Warm Vanilla Sugar on all of them. They smell great so when you get in bed it's just lovely.

Towels I wash on hot as well with a good softener and dry on a medium heat.

When you dry things be careful. I don't dry anything at all on high. Most things get dried on low or a medium heat. The high heat will fade/ruin anything.. no matter what. Then make sure you take everything out of the dryer the second everything is done. That's when everything will have the least amount of wrinkles and be the fluffiest.

I use Woolite for dark (liquid) clothing and wash all darks in cold water on the gentle cycle. I use Clorox 2 liquid for getting stains out of colored clothing. I use Clorox Premium Bleach in hot water for my whites. I use liquid Downy (unscented) in the washers' rinse cycle. I use ALL free clear liquid (unscented, dye-free) as my all purpose laundry detergent. My clothes are soft and smell very clean. Even my 3 year old son recognizes that his clothes are soft, so I think it's working pretty well!

Oh where do I begin!
Tide is the BEST laundry detergent out there!
You can wash the blacks, well actually all darks, in vinegar and it will "set" the colors! (COLD WATER!)
Bleach.....Ammonia....Oxiclean.....Borax all are good for whites (Ammonia, Oxiclean and Borax are actually good for all colors)
Ammonia in the wash makes the dinginess disappear all of the little grease stains will go away and believe it or not it gets odor out of clothes (I almost ALWAYS have ammonia in my washer!)
Borax gets the sour smell out of clothes I use it for my towels!
I also use a double shot of Downy April Fresh fabric softener in the rinse cycle to get that yummy smell!!!

Happy Washing :)

They do have a special soap from woolite and cheer for washing your dark clothes in. You could also use bleach for the whites. Gain detergent smells really good. And use fabric softener sheets.
