This is kinda weird, my printer won't print any text. Yet it prints pictures and photos, but not text. Like I would tell it to print a text page the printer would then print the paper as it normally would, except....the page is blank!

Yet it does not seem to have this problem when it come to pictures.
I don't think it's out of ink cause than it would have told me.

Any idea on what the problem could be?
This has not happened before.

What printer do you have?

It's likely that your black cartridge is deprimed - air has gotten into the printhead and no ink can get thru to the nozzles. The printer does not tell you that it is empty because it is not empty. Just that the ink cannot get to the firing portion.

You can print photos because when you select photo paper, typical inkjet printers only use color to print, not black. The black on your photos is comprised of the cyan, magenta, yellow inks mixed together. Therefore your photos turn out ok, as do your pictures.

Try changing your text into a color and print - you should see the text appearing, as long as its not black.

You know those little metal dots on the cartridge that come with a piece of tape over them? It sounds like one of those is damaged. It is making a connection, but the cartridge isnt letting the ink out. Try first to have the catridge replaced as defective.

Another possible cause is a clogged nozel/head. Try going through your printer's driver/settings/software thats installed. Most printers have some method of trying to force a large amount of ink through the head in order to clean it out. If that doesnt work I would suggest bringing it in for service (most best buys would do this for free as theyll want to either repair it or sell you a new one.)

Hi. Use the printer software to clean the printer heads. Answer 1 is probably right, but if you are sure the black cartridge is not out of ink, give this a try. Other wise put in a new black cartridge.
