Theres is way to many fish for me to chose a favorite I dont even know how many total kinds there is .and fish rest but they dont sleep for they have no eyelids oh and happy pi day 3.14 (march 14 yay )

And no fish don't sleep like you or I. They shut down in a period of rest and some have the ability to keep parts of their body, including eye sight going. (I guess if you take resting as sleeping than.....)
Other fish will rest unaware of their surroundings (which explains why they get eaten).

Most fish dont sleep, they simply stop moving around and rest at night. Once the lights go back on they spring back to action.

My favorite type of fish are the ones that are breaded and in the shape of a stick.

My favorite fish to eat is the cobia.
There is a theory that fish sleep, but I don't know if it has ever been proven.

in the tank my fave fish is seahorse
in the wild my fave fish is the leafy sea dragon, and the hammerhead shark
most fish have periods of inactivity, some do not, sharks never sleep, but oddly box jellyfish do...(I know that box jellies are not fish, they are cnidarians, but I just find it odd that they sleep while sharks do not)

So hard to choose.
I love the plecos and the Burmese Boarder Loach, Pakistani (YoYo) Loach, Featherfin Squeaker, all types of Rainbow Fish.

I would have to say the betta fish, the males, because of their beautiful colors and their tail and fin sizes.

Oscars.
They r the next best thing to pirahnas. Throw in anything in the tank...leftovers, cockroaches, lizards....anything they can swallow they definitely will. Not fussy abt foods...saves u a bundle...and fun to watch 'em annihilate e insects.
Fishes do sleep.

I love Bettas, tetras of all kinds, fancy guppies, most any small coloful schooling fish.
