Sounds like colic...have you tried a non-dairy formula? If you are breastfeeding him try avoiding milk for a few days. Hang in there, I know that this must be very stressful for you. It will pass soon enough.

Colic--he might be lactose intolerant. Talk to the pediatrician and see if changing to soy formula would be better for him. Prop him up for thirty minutes after feedings so that the food has time to begin settling and burp him more often--do it 3 or 4 times through his bottle instead of just once in the middle and once at the end. Or, if that doesn't work, take him to the chiropractor for an adjustment--I heard that this does wonders for colicky babies. You might want to try this first. I guess it'll depend on how desperate you are! Best of luck!

my son goes through this aswell (8 wks old). babies do just cry sometimes, because they are babies. He might be bored, have you put him infront of the TV? The constant movement interests them, my son looks at the TV intently for hours sometimes. That's what I do when I need to do some laundry/cleaning, put something on the TV (it doesnt have to be a kids show either, my sister justed to scream unless she was put infront of the TV to watch forgien news...odd I know). If you suspect "wind" (I really dislike when people say "ohh the baby has wind"...grrr) you could try getting some Infacol drops or something similar for "wind". I give them to my son 2ml before every feed. It seems to allow him to bring up big burps and god awful farts.

Sometimes babies just need to be cuddled and held all the time. If he's breastfed he may be having a growth spurt, then he will want to be on the breast all the time, literally. For a few days. If he's formula fed, maybe the formula isn't right for him.

Just try spending one whole day just cuddling him (as if you didn't have anything else to do!) and see if he calms,

Good luck

I suspect classic colic, he is at the right age to develop it. there are special colic holds that help, rhythmic movement, white noise, a famous help is to put his bassinet or car seat on top of the dryer while it is going. The noise, and the slight rocking movement tend to ease that crankiness. Try keeping socks on him, some colicky babies get cold extremities.
worst case, get head phones to help you, some babies just need to cry.

My son has colic. He did that.

Our doctor told us to change his formula to "Nam" and it worked wonders...

also put on a vacuum or blow dryer...that worked also.

It mysteriously went away at about 2 1/2 months
