He was murdered, and after he came back to earth, he had to see that his wife had married his best friend. And even if that wouldn't happened he couldn't go back to her, I mean he is dead and also his body looks like that, if you know what I mean ...

Tohru Honda is kind of a tragic cartoon hero because of all that she has gone through although I don't think that was what you were looking for.

I have one episode of this anime..quite a bit dark plot there...with many gores (not too bloody )... PG +17
the hero were experimented I guess in some lab...so he didn't expect himself to be a saviour..
bottom line is many heroic..and tragic moment...
and maybe nudity..
