See, my "interests" are... I dunno! I am a person with little interest in things to make a research paper! I'll tell you what I do like anyway, it will probally be pointless. My fav color is green, I like music alot, I love science facts though It would kill me to write a science paper! So social issues such as 'peer pressure' wouldn't work in a paper like this. I need something I can find on the web, in a book, or on an educational program. Mr. Forget wouldn't have it ANY other way! Your serious answers would be appriciated! Thanx a million!!!

Haha, okay. something not babyish. oh my.
If you have to base it off a book - Slaughterhouse-five (you could discuss Dresden, Aliens, Dark Humour, Time Travel... etc), The Wizard of Oz (Government, obviously), Invisible Man, The Catcher in the Rye (It's a bit easier to read - you can talk about why it was banned, the psychological and physiological state of Holden, the main character) woah, I could go on with books.
If its something fun - pick something that interests you because if you haven't written a paper two pages before -(and you are most certainly going to have to write longer papers in high school and college) - you might get bored. Don't worry about it being a "cool" topic as much as something you are interested in or care about or else it might be hard for you to concentrate while writing your two pages.
You could do world issues like AIDS or controversial issues like same-sex marriage...
There are so many topics you can choose just make sure it is appealing to you. Don't worry what other people will think because if you write your paper well enough, even if you are talking about ?barbies? it will not sound "babyish"
------
And you only learn if you write it yourself!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Don't let other people write your papers or you will be screwed when you get to high school. You research papers will have to be 10-12 pages!

Figure out the effect of the Internet on the music industry.
Threatening and suing.
Now people are finding talented young artist on line possibly to the point they will make the greedy music industry fall to its knees and beg for the kind of love they were receiving when people were sharing their music.
Ask 100 people.
1. Do you purchase Cd's?
2. Do you go to $35 a pop concerts?
3. Have you found an alternative source of music?
People no longer have to purchase a $16 CD that has only one song they want.
People no longer have to listen to radio listening to 10 songs they don't like hoping 1 they do like will come on.
To emphasize your point gets some facts and records of the law suit against a 12 year old girl for downloading music. What band withheld there music from sharing.
These bands don't deserve to have any fans.

I have a research paper due next week. It is 8 pages long and half our final grade.
yes, it stinks, I know your pain.
When you do have to cite your resources, go to citationmachine.com. It will help you write them out correctly.
You could write it over UFOs. Well, that's what I am assigned to do. I'm not a fan of them, so it's a little difficult for me.
You could write your paper over how much fashion has changed in the past century. I'm sure you could get loads of information on that- certainly from magazines and the library. Make sure that you do cite your resources. I know teachers can be a little picky over that.
My english teachers usually have had fun reading my papers, I usually tend to pick something that no one else would have ever thought of. Choose something you enjoy doing; fashion, animals, how tanning can affect you, jewelry over the past thousand years, think outside the box and something should come to you.
good luck!

Write a paper on how students are writing papers by plagiarizing off of the Internet or using the Internet for shortcuts.
If you want, I can write it for you in the next 20 minutes.
I completely forgot how short "essays" were in school. 1 to 2 pages is very short, even for 8th grade. I would write it for you.
It would be ironic.
