you have to contact a music publishing company (i.e EMI Music Publishing) and pitch them your lyrics. this is extremely hard to do so i suggest gettin an agent and a manager first who'll help you along the way. take it from a girl who's parents are successful music executives.

you can get hired as a songwriter at an independent record label. Just shop around, go to label websites and get your name out there. The main way to get paid for your lyrics is to have a song made from them that becomes successful. It is essential for this to happen if you want to become discovered by major labels. Make sure you copyright all of your material. This is also essential.

Show them to as many insiders as possible. There's a lot of info like that in the 'musician's atlas' but i don't have it because it's so freaking expensive.
