Face it, we beg to have the gvmt run our lives. We want Social Security so we don't have to plan our own retirement, we want gvmt to give us all an education, to insure we have secure jobs at a living wage. We demand protection from competition, watch to insure that business owners don't "gouge" us, and now we demand that gvmt even take care of our health.

Never will a one-size-fits-all-plan be fair to everybody. There will always be a minority who gets the shaft, sacrificed to the demands of the majority.

Why should it be any different when we demand the gvmt regulate marriage? Even if gvmt does allow gays to marry, there will still be other groups that won't share the "benefits" you seek. Is this fair as long as you get what you want?

Wouldn't it be better for all if we just took responsibility for our own lives and got the gvmt OUT of running us?

Shouldn't we enter into our marriage as we define in our contract with our partner?

rhaevyn - You think there's good things that come out of gvmt when they run our education and health care, but nothing good by gvmt running our marriage. I believe that there's no good that comes from gvmt running education and healthcare, but regulating marriage serves the greater good.

Now we are just where we started with no hope to break the impasse.

This is why there will never be a gay marriage, because too many people medel in the lives of others.

We want to live our lives free as we see best, but gvmt better watch everyone else and make sure no one else gets more freedom than me!

I agree in Freedom fully. Indeed, it would suit the society more if the mass decided to stop being lazy and instead let the government know that it isn t needed .

Instead live off of the land as our grandparents did. Survive free as they did.

Laziness has been offered by today s government, and it is offered along with fear.

And so, people follow , or die on the streets homeless.

Freedom is a dream of the past , which was once known, yet is long forgotten and sorely missed.

I look foward to going Home to the spirit world one day. Where I know Life is Free.

hi Kevin, I study lots of your questions, and that i incredibly much continually consider you. and that i consider the sentiment at the back of this one besides. I see no valid argument by any skill against the legalization of gay marriage. That being stated, I do think of there's a logical flaw in what you're asserting. like it or no longer, the government performs a gate-conserving place interior the legal employer of marriage. government subject concerns the marriage licenses, and determines who's eligible to obtain one. despite if it does or would not recognize similar-intercourse marriage, the government's place is the comparable.

Stop saying WE!!!! WE do not want all these things. Weeeee... weee want to be... Anarchy. Sex Pistols right? Just like religion, for right there must be wrong. Christianity is the regulator, right or wrong. The government must govern, right or wrong. Let them be. They set the standard and judge, you define what is important. Therefore, you get the choice in who to marry. Make it an important choice, make it count, and make it last. Leave "we" and the "gvmt" out of it. Make these decisions about "You."

I agree in regards to marriage but there are benifits with healthcare, education and employment that you should probably look into more deeply.
