Went bye-bye.

In his leaving-office speech, Eisenhower warned us -- the "Military Industrial Complex speech.

But people didn't really pay enough attention to it, though he was being nutty.

It's been replaced with the MUCH healthier and more democratic

Of the moneyed, by the moneyed, and for the moneyed.

Wouldn't you agree?

That concept has been destroyed by both political parties. We the people have no say in how we are governed anymore. It is all special interests and money. We need a TOTAL revamping of government or else it is only going to get worse. We have two political parties that are so far apart on the issues that nothing gets done.I definitely lean on the conservative side of most issues but you know what,a little revolution once in a while is not a bad thing!!!!!!!!!!! History has shown us that the longer a system of government is in place the more corrupt it becomes. How much longer do we listen to liberals and conservatives ********* about the others policies and get NOTHING DONE????? Mean while we ALL SUFFER!!! And these people all seem to agree on one thing every year, giving themselves a RAISE!!!! It is time for the people of this country to put their foot down and stop electing both democrats and republicans!!! It is time for fresh faces and fresh ideas!!! Not the same old crap!!!New and different parties!!! It is time for a CHANGE!!!!!

Wow has someone been filling your heads with mush or what? Look, the system is fine, it works well.

First (to Bear): This is a representative republic not a democracy.

Second: Did it ever occurr to you that corporations are also publicly owned by the people? PAC's are people who join their support together in a common cause?

Third: No matter how much money you throw at a candidate he cannot win unless the people vote for him/her?

Fourth: It was Gore that ran to court first not Bush.

Fifth: Oil companies are owned by the stock holders like Ted Kennedy and Al Gore.

Sixth: Special intrest groups are groups of people

Seventh: Less than half the people elegible to vote even bother to register.

Eighth: Less than half of the registered voters actually vote.

If a majority of voters wanted to do it, every single elected official in the Federal Government could be replace within 6 years. So what does this leave us? A government of the people by the people and for the people is still the case. Do people need to participate for it to work?
Hello? If a lot of the people choose to abdicate their authority that isn't the fault of the system. Every voter has the right to not vote, too.

If you are so dissatisfied with the results of elections, maybe you are the one who is out of step with most of the other voters. Nothing in our Constitution says that you will like what the people choose, you know.

The government was already controlled by a few belonging to the political party that wins. Thus, it is no longer the government of the people but government by the political party in power to serve their interests.

You remember who voted for these government leaders still right? Just putting it out there that all those who don't like Bush, he was reelected by the people. He told you what he was going to do. "Stay the course, No child left behind etc," What happened to the "government of the people by the people, for the people? The people voted it out.

I hate to say it but I've noticed the government controled by money not people. Sad but true fact: the only thing that makes anything move, change or the government care is money...

I love how some immediately went for the tired, "corporations" saw; let's face it, folks, more politicians are in PACs' pockets than ever dreamed of working for Halliburton or anyone else; both sides of the aisle are owned lock stock and barrel by lobbyists, and the sad part is that even those who blame corporations know this, and are deflecting the blame. Spend that thirty pieces of silver wisely, ladies and gentlemen.

This is why we need a super computer, can all of them,go to the unemployment line sponge.

All legal Americans have a S.S. #,call the computer for your vote for what ever is before the country.

No more slimy politicians, lobbyists or corporate pay offs. You can't bribe a machine,it don't care what color you are or how good in bed you are or are not.

The computer will just give us all the facts of the vote. This will give the government back to the people.

Because, "we the people" keep putting the same old crooks back in office time and time again! We have very low turnout at election time, then we sit around and complain about nothing changes!
We, as Americans need to throw bums out of office that have been there forever! Look at Senator Kennedy......I'm in my late 40's and I remember him being a Senator when I was a kid! Has the man ever held a real job in his life?
We need to force our ELECTED politicians to change laws and make term limits for ALL offices in Govt, not just the office of President.
We need to make the lobbying movement a federal crime to keep the $$$$$$ away from politicians who just can't resist it. And Govt officials that refuse to listen to the people they represent.....vote the bums out of office....get the hint Senator Dole from NC?

Watch the movie "Freedom to Fascism". It will show you exactly where it went. Our country is circling the drain and it's speeding up quickly. It's now our responsibility to let both parties know that we will not take this anymore.
