Somewhere between 70%-75% of the surface of the Earth is covered by water. Most of it is in the oceans and and 3% is drinking water with most of it frozen in the polar ice caps and deep in the ground etc. .

Water actually covers only 73% of Earth's surface. But technically water, mainly oceans cover the surface.

Oceans and other large bodies of water cover roughly 75 percent of the surface of the earth.
