Red Cherry definetly. The amber version looks way too mellow and boring for something you're paying 700 dollars for.
Also red is probably the perfect color when it comes to drums. Drums = loud, red = loud color, combine the two and it's like a match made in heaven.

Whichever one you like is fine with me. My 1st drum kit was Gretsch. It was a real good kit with great sound! Do yourself a favor & check out interstatemusic.com. They beat the hell out of musicians friend! Rock on.

im a percussionist too and i say red cherry well actually if there are more choices i say clear or black
