Ultimately, you need to go to vet school after you get your bachelors.

Like some other grad schools in medicine, they have their list of prerequisite classes they want you to take before they look at you. Vet schools also have the additional requirement of wanting 180 hours or so of actual work experience with animals.

There are VERY few vet schools in the US. It can be easier to get into med school for some people.
