Yes, I heard this rumour right around the time Episode V came out, in 1981!

According to Lucas, he has no intention of making any more SW films, due to his age and the time it takes to make the films.

Right now, he's working on 2 tv series, one a cartoon and one live action. But no, there's no plans on Episodes 7, 8, or 9.

I have heard this rumor too. I am subscribed to Star Wars website and I read a lot about characters and places. The Star Wars saga does not end with "Star wars 6". And by the way my most favorite Boba Fett does not die either.

I saw an interview with Lucas after Ep. 3 came out where he was asked if he'd ever continue the Star Wars saga, and he said something to the sort of, who knows it's possible.

That rumor has been out since 4, 5, and 6 came out. Lucas has always said no, but hopefully he'll cave and let someone who is better at directing actors will take the helm.

i heard that the original plan lucas had was to make all 9 starwars movies and release in one hit as a 15 hour marathon! some say he is a genius for making 4,5,6 first then 1,2,3 because of the amount of hype that would of been created for the newer movies and then new technology allowing them to be made better then the last 3.

I highly doubt that.
