I think this attitude comes from preindustrial times when most work was manual and would "favor" males over females.Also Christianity which says that women are subservient to thier husbands.

Its a mans world. Men dont thinks its cool to dress as a female because it takes aways their "manhood"
You can turn that question around and also ask. Why is it cool to see two girls make out but disgusting to see two men make out??
