Or...finishing grade 10 in June and starting grade 11 in September? Does a school year in USA go from September to June (one grade)?

I'm from Australia. Our school year is from February to December. I have just started Year 11 (grade 11).

What states in USA are you all from (and age)? I haven't been to America yet but I can't wait (we are hopefully going this year). If you have any tips (we would be going in July-I know summer vacation, busy etc) feel free to email me suggestions and tips. There will be 3 teenagers and 2 parents. We are going for a month.

You would be in your sophomore year (grade 10). You would finish grade 10 in June and start grade 11 in September.

It depends on the state you live in
In the state I live in, parents have a choice, for children born from September to December, if they start at 4 going on 5 or 5 going on 6.
I know some state you must be five before the first day of school.
I also know of a state you must be or going to be 6 to start school.

You'd be a sophomore (as of now), like me! And some schools are like that... Where they start in September and end in June... But most schools that I have gone here starts in August and ends in May... Just a month ahead... not much... YOu'd also be in the class of 2009.

Well my birthday is in dec. and when i was in skool, I was in the 10th grade when i turned 16.So u would be finishing up 10 and starting 11 at the end of Aug or early Sept. in the US.
