I need a unfinished wooden box (about the size of a toy box) for my sons b-day party. We are going to paint it like a train and have the children throw "pillows of coal" in it.
I have looked everywhere....lowes, hobby lobby......HELP.

Try Micheal's Craft Stores, A.C.Moore or do a search on the web for craft stores and also Walmart's craft dept will carry them too. Also on line try Sunshine crafters they hav everything and are cheaper then most places. Myself I do like AC Moore over other craft places. GL

Why don't you try Micheal's Craft Stores. They have them all the time and they look like a wooden crate. If not there, IKEA has a wooden storage box that you can actually stain or paint yourself. We use it for our son's toys.

Along with stone, mud and animal parts, wood was one of the first materials worked by early humans. Microwear analysis of the Mousterian stone tools used by the Neanderthals show that many were used to work wood. The development of civilization was closely tied to the development of increasingly greater degrees of skill in working these materials.
