No, the Kommunistische Partei Deutshlands (KPD) as it was in the 1920s and 1930s, under the leadership of Ernst Thalmann, and under control of the CPSU (via the Comintern) was not the best for Germany. Unfortunately, they chose to fight the SPD (Socialist Party) as "social fascists" rather than unite with them and oppose Hitler and the National Socialists. The KPD received 10 -15% of the vote, which only made them a weak opposition party in the Reichstag.
