id hate to say this but it is most likely that you should of probably taken a few classes before making this decesion. alot of the girls will probably be advanced dancers; but this doesnt mean you should give up hope! tons of studios offer summer sessions; and i suggest you take a hip hop or jazz class just to get the feel for counts [5,6,7,8] and rhythm. but if you truly love to dance i see no reason why the couldnt let you on!

It may not be the answer you want to hear, but I would have reccommended a few classes first. You may be able to figure out the moves over time but it would take you much longer then the more expierianced dancers. I am on my school's dance team (I've been taking classes for 10 years) and I had no problem with it. My friend who hasn't taken classes really struggled on the team and got discouraged a lot. You could also be subject to jokes from the more expierienced girls. Ultimately it's up to you, but I would just stick to school dances.

Of course you can try out and join! The routines for school dance teams don't use specific dance forms, just choreographed moves. I've never had a dance class in my entire life. I tried out for my old school's dance team my first year as a freshman and by selection, I made the team but couldn't participate because of my GPA, go figure.
All you have to do is be there for practice and do what the choreographer tells you to.

Now, no one's stopping you from doing what you wanna do and dance. But, take it from me, if you're trying out for a HIGH SCHOOL dance team, take some lessons! Now, I don't know, you may be a good dancer already without classes. However, just to make sure that the team captains or leaders can trust you in whatever they throw out at you, take guidance in dance.

That depends on the team. Some teams accept complete beginners, some don't. It all depends on how they structure their training program. Try to audition and see what happens.
