For now, definitely Wii. PS3 has too many problems too soon. Wait till they fix it and bring down the price. Plus, games are not affordable right now. Wii is 1. Cheaper 2. More fun 3. Ya lose weight using it 4. It has motion sensing capabilities 5. It looks cooler (literally, cause it's white). Here's an article from Sony called '10 reasons to buy PS3'.
You wouldn’t buy this if you are a hardcore Xbox or Wii fan, but Sony’s Phil Harrison tried his luck anyway. In his keynote address at the recent Games Developers Conference (GDC) in San Francisco, Harrison had offered ten reasons why you should part with your £425 for a PS3.
1. Home and LittleBigPlanet
2. It’ll probably be easier to get hold of a PS3 than a Wii come 23 March (ok, maybe not this one)
3. It’s another reason to buy an HD TV
4. MotorStorm really does look rather good
5. Affordable games
6.It’s a good-value Blu-ray player
7.SingStar and online content
8.The PS3 controller might get its rumble back
9.Your old PS2 games will work on it - almost
10.Resistance: Fall of Man
Now, let me go back and fix it.
1. Wii has the new Mii system, which Sony copied. They should get sued by Nintendo for that.
2. Why even bother with PS3? There's a reason Wii's not easy to get.
3. What about those of us who can't afford one?
4. Big deal.
5. $75 is affordable when pigs fly.
6. This is probably the only good reason to get a PS3.
7. Wii has the Opera brower, where you can surf the web, and some games have online play.
8. Ha! See? It's Sixaxis is even broken! Wii has a rumbling controller.
9. Wii is 100% backwards compatible, and it has Virtual Console, where you can download 20 years worth of old titles.
10. Many people are saying now that Resistance is junk and over-hyped. Who knows? Anyways...
Wii trumps, beats, slaps, conquers, and demolishes the PS3. PS3 has too many bugs. Wait 2 or 3 years before buying one, if you do decide (wrongly) to get one.

imo the wii became into imaginative whilst it got here out now ps3 purely stole their thought yet subtle it. it has undesirable snap shots and not that super video games, some good are metroid, mario... ps3 has the best specs of the three it has loose on line play purely like the wii yet i won't have the ability to stand the controller!!:D 360 (which i very own) hasn't have been given as good specs because of the fact the ps3 however the controller appears like slightly heaven in my hands :D it has even have been given greater useful on line service (in spite of the reality which you have have been given to pay a month-to-month value) and while you're into cod i'd choose the 360 because of the fact activision is sucking onMicrosoft'ss cock. if i ought to bypass back in time i'd have offered a ps3 because of the fact maximum of my pals play it! AND something TO ALL PS3FAN BOYSS HAVING BLUERAY would not recommend that each and every LITTLE area on the DISK IS getting used SO provide up asserting OOH PS3 is a lot greater useful CUZ IT HAS BLU RAY!!

depends on what you mean by better: in terms of graphics, the ps3 no question but for better (more interactive gameplay) the wii.
also, the wii is more affordable so if your planning on just gaming, it is a smarter choice (if you cant wait for the price to go down)
however, keep in mind that the ps3 is also a blu-ray player and most blu-ray players out now are at least $900. the ps3 is only 500-600 dollars and it is capable of both game play and playing blu-raydiscs so its a deal
