Don't compare the heartrates!!
Your baby is probably a little older than 15 weeks, that's all! As a baby grows, her heartbeat will slow down. By birth it will be closer to 120, and by 6 months after birth it will be closer to 80.
If the doctor wasn't worried, there's no reason you should be.
This stage of pregnancy is the worst--because you can't always feel the baby, it's easy to imagine the worst. Trust me: I'm on my second and STILL having worries that she won't be with us next week or the doctor will find a dead fetus. It's always a worry, but you just can't let that control you!

Anywhere between 120 and 160 is normal. I am almost 15 weeks and last Thursday the heartbeat was 160 then yesterday it was 152. The heartbeat changes all the time. 149 is a very strong and healthy heartbeat. I am high risk and trust me if the dr. thought 149 was low he would have ordered an u/s right there. The heartbeat is normal!! good luck and congrats!!!!

I wouldn't worry about it, if there was a problem your doctor would have said something. When I was pregnant I was told that a healthy heartbeat can be any where between 120-180. My baby's heartbeat was usually between 140-150. If you are still concerned check this with your doctor.

The normal heartbeat for a baby in the womb is around 140. So your babies heartbeat is just fine.

I saw a doctor yesturday and I asked about my baby's heart rate. My baby has a heart rate of 140 and I was concerned and ask the doctor if that was normal and she told me that the normal rate is 120 to 150. She also said that depending on how active you are will depend on if it is higher then that.
Dont worry your in the normal rate.

no, only concern would be if heart rate drops into range of 80-100 beats per minute ...this would meen that the baby is in distress..also remember that everyone and every pregnancy are different...a heart rate of 149 , as in what your dr told you, is very normal.

Don't worry your baby's heartbeat is normal, they can vary but yours is within the normal range. My son's beat was in the 141-145 range and they said that it is normal.

Positively not. 149 is excellent and about the normal. If there was something to worry about, or if the doctor were concerned, they would say so.

mmm that s a question & a half....dont think that you should be worried tho, as the midwife would've said something surely, maybe your friends baby was a little bigger which would explain different speed of heartbeat!!
