God springs forth from the primitive limbic system of your brain, the last remnants of your reptillion past. The area where our raw emotions reside, including the irrational belief systems.

The 'religious' experience is triggered by deep depression, starvation, near death, or other highly charged situations. The 'born-again' christian phenomena has a scientific basis....yes, your limbic system. Why has man evolved this mechanism you might ask? Simple...it was a survival mechanism of our cave man ancestors to cope with a hostile and unknown universe.

The cerebral cortex is a more recent development. Here is where our rational and logical thought processes take place. It is here that the atheists have found their basis in reality.

In reality, there is no sentient, omnipresent, omnipotent supernatural being or force....therefore all the inequities and misery of the world will always persist, no matter how hard some try to get that limbic brain of ours to work...sorry

Well, firstly, YOU wouldn't exist either, would you? It sounds like you think God is optional, to believe or not to believe. If you'd really like some proof, I've got an awesome book I'd suggest you read, it's called, "Heaven On Earth - A Guide to Enlightenment & Human Unity" by Stephen D'Amico at ameekpress.com or at amazon.com. The author of this book describes a metaphysical experience he had during a meditation session, that changed his life forever. He came face-to-face with what he says, could only have been God! He was a different man after that day and this book tells of his journey. We'll never know if the Bible or that of any other holy book is true, word for word, but one thing is for certain, God does exist and is hiding in plain sight for anyone of us to see.

I would like to pass on to you 3 references on a god or supernatural conscious force that has sound scientific evidence for it. This is not about God or Allah, or Buddha etc. but a supernatural effect that exists.

I would also like to suggest that the existence of hallucinations in certain "mentally ill" people (about 1 out of 100 of the population of the world) can also be evidence if it is accepted that these have a supernatural origin. If such an explanation is accepted then this is a pro that that "god" (not God) is active in the world with people. (such activity in itself may not be a plus for the people affected) The current belief that these hallucinations are due to an inherited genetic predisposition and a grossly "screwed up" brain does not withstand close scientific scrutiny.

Pro: If there really is a God, then maybe there really is a purpose for this reality, and our lives aren't meaningless.

Con: God has something of a quality control problem, because he keeps dumping idiots on us...

One more con: If God's trying to teach us lessons, I don't think we're going to pass the test... We may have to take remedial classes. (Read: HELL...)
