I have a 8 month old baby that is starting to roam, but I also have a 4 year old that can't step over the traditional child gate. Are there any gates out there that would make it easy for my 4 year old to get through without much help?

Hey, the best thing to do would be to get a gate that swings open. We have one for my daughter- she's 9 mos old, and I'm fairly short and didn't want the hassle of stepping over the traditional gates, especially when I'm trying to carry something. They also have gates that swing open that are pressure mounted. We live in an apartment, so I didn't want to drill anything into the door way. We choose the Evenflo Simple Effort Plus. We like this one because it swings open, can be pressure or hardware mounted. It would also be good for the 4 year old because it has a remote control that you can velcro to the wall, with a simple button that opens the gate. Put it out of the baby's way, but where the 4 year old can reach it, and it shouldn't be a problem! It also has an option on the gate so you can open it without the remote. The swing open gates are a little more expensive, but I think well worth it. Hope this helps!

P.S. We got ours at Babies R Us.

They have one with latches that swing open. If you go to Babies R Us they have them all out on display.
