My fiance just got me a brand new 2 gallon tank, but I already have 2 beta tanks. Is there anything else that I can put in there by itself or should I just go for a really fancy beta?

The two betas that I have are a regular and a crowntail.... if I go with another beta, what variety would you go with?

I've also already got a 10 gallon fancy goldfish tank with fantails, and a shubunkin....

Would more 2 fancy guppies work in a tank that size or is it too crowded?

I successfully kept a peppered cory cat fish(still alive after 5 years) and a dwarf aquatic frog(died after 5 years) in a 2 Gallon Hexagon(combination undergravel filter and sponge filter) tank with no heater at work. I still had to perform weekly water changes of at least 30% but usually did 50%(interestingly though when I missed the occasional weekly water change, it did not kill the fish or frog, likely due to the dual filtration). I just siphoned out the water, watered my plants with the water, and replaced the water with chlorine remover added that I allowed to sit for at a least a week in a seperate container. No problems, other than algae.
Other possiblities for a 2 gallon, include, 3 white cloud minows/3 zebra danios, a few guppies, some ghost shrimp(I never had luck with these) or any combination therof. I would recommend a combination filter(undergravel and sponge and posssible a small bubble wand for increased aeration to improve oxygen levels and help break down waste better) and weekly water changes of 30-50%. You could also throw in live aquarium plant and with enough lighting it should do well. The java moss that I had in my 2 gallon tank did really well but I always had to remove some to keep it from taking over my tank.
Hope that helps.

I hope you plan on upgrading your goldfish tank. A 10 gallon is only big enough for 1 baby fancy goldfish and you say you have fantails, meaning you have more then 1 and a shubunkin which need 20 each when babies. If they aren't already they will become stunted, its where their outsides stop growing but their insides don't and they get more and more compacted until the fish die.
As far as your new 2 gallon tank, if it has a filter and heater then you could keep 2 fancy guppies in there if you would like, get 2 males though. If you get a male and female or even 2 females and if they were ever near a male you will end up with fry and your tank would be too small for all of them.
You don't say what gender your 2 current bettas are, if they are both males how about getting a female this time? And if you do upgrade your 10 gallon with the goldfish you can then turn that into an all girls betta tank.

I'll assume you have a heater and a filter for the tank and say you could get a pair of croaking gouramis or sparkling gouramis. There are also several kinds of killifish that would work well. These aren't always easy to find in shops, but shops may be able to order them for you.
Pair of guppies would work as long as you kept up with the water changes. I think I would use 2 males though, just so you don't have to worry about breeding or the male pestering the female to death.

you honestly cant put anything in a 2 gallon tank...because a tank that small can not properly cycle therefor you would be hitting an ammonia spike and killing your fish within a week or two without constant water changes.
A betta would be find but you still would have to COMPLETELY clean out that tank every three to four days. Shaz

I am glad you are not taking the bad advice to put a fantail in a 2 gallon! You may as well buy a dead fish. I think you can get a cute African dwarf frog in two gallons.

You could put 2 guppies in that tank its risky but you should be okay. You have to make sure however that you have aeration and filtration of some kind.

Yeah guppies would do well in it. Could even try some Black mollies as they are pretty hardy. Just need one male and 2 females. Or just a couple of the same sex. The girls would be thankful. I have kept mollies without a heater and had no problems, but the room they were in was warm. Try something new and see how it does. You might be surprised at the hardiness of some of the breeds. Platys also are pretty easy to keep. Have fun with it.

Guppies would work - you could keep 2-3 fancy males.
A third betta - try a female for variety, or a male halfmoon (http://www.aquabid.com/cgi-bin/auction/auction.cgi?fwbettashm&1173966277) or superdelta (http://www.aquabid.com/cgi-bin/auction/auction.cgi?fwbettasd&1174151041) - both named for degree tail can open
