Dichloro-diphenyl-trichloroethane
this is the name of the chemical
when jake roberts invented the move, he named it DDT because he says it "scrambles the brain" just like the chemical does.
i dont think it actually stands for something in terms of the move

It's more in reference to the chemical compound DDT. I've heard it can also mean Drop Dead Twice. I know Jake the Snake Roberts coined the term.
I have seen him kayo Ricky Steamboat with it, there was a big knot on Steamboat's head when his wife came out to see what was wrong.
I thought it was part of the script until I saw the big welt on Ricky's forehead. Plus his wife seemed genuinely panicked, either that or she's a good actress.
To this day I can't say for sure if Jake did it on purpose or if it was accidental.

It's actually a pesticide. Jake the Snake Roberts used it as his fininshing move.High levels of DDT can affect the nervous system causing excitability, tremors and seizures. I'm not sure that the term means anything in wrestling other than being a lethal pesticide.just a kool name for a finishing move!

I think it was made popular by Jake Roberts. It stood for Damien's Dinner Time (his snake). Pretty much the end of the match.

Im not sure what it stands for but Jake 'The Snake' Roberts named the move after a rat poison.
Either that or it stands for deranged donkey testing.

It stood for Damien's dinner time. Or as Jake Roberts said, "The end".
