Dreft is a good one, All Free and Clear is another, and I don't know if they still make it but there used to be a good one called Ivory Snow. I always used Dreft with my kids.

Dreft smells the best... but it's also the most expensive. We mostly used the All brand... free & clear? Something like that, I don't remember exactly :) You can use the same detergent you use on your clothes too, if you really want... just do what a previous person said & make sure you do an extra rinse or two to get all the extra fragrance, dye, and soap out :)

I would try dreft at first. It is a bit expensive, but until u see if your baby has any allergies, it is probably best to have it on hand.
After u determine that no allergies have been noticed, then go with whatever u like. Nothing says u cant use the cheap stuff once you are in the clear with the allergy things. If u can save a nickel, i do it, cause there are other things I want for my child.

It relies upon on the infant.I washed each element with dreft or the Ivory infant cleansing soap for the 1st few mo.i admire the scent of that stuff,in any case after approximately 3 mths i began out employing huge-unfold detergent i might wash some element with dreft and the different infant cleansing soap and spot if it breaks them out and go from there

It's perfectly OK to use regular laundry detergent on babies' clothes -- although perfume- and dye-free is best. Do an extra rinse to make sure you get all the soap out, and don't use fabric softener (in the wash or the dryer).

The one that I use for my newborn is DREFT I have used it in all my 4 kids and my 2 week old ! It does not irritate my baby skin since my kids have sensetive skin!

I use Arm and Hammer for Sensitive Skin. It's dye free and fragrance free. It's also very reasonably priced for such a large container. Also, when I put the baby clothes in the dryer, I make sure NOT to use a dryer sheet.
