When it does this I can not get in or out of gear. I had the oil and all the filters changed and topped off the brake fluids and it worked great for a week or so and then it started again. I have no idea what to do and I do not know a trust worthy mechanic. Suggestions?

Start by removing the floor mats out of the floor area and try. Most common cause of this. People tend to push mats up with foot heals and they get stuck under pedala dn so clutch will not fuly disengage when you depress it.

i own a repair shop ,and whats happening to it is the clutch master cylinder is either going out on it,or the slave cylinder is going out, right now what its doing is really dangerous ,because it may not allow you to get it out of gear or be able to stop it,in case you had to real fast, what you need to do is find a good small repair shop, that has a good steady business, and let them look at it for you, there not as expensive as the larger shops are,and they will do as good of work as the bigger shops will but at a lot less money, repairing these cylinders is not an option, they can only be replaced, and it takes a good mechanic to know the procedure for these, there a lot different than normal ones are,but have it repaired before it goes all the way out, good luck with it,i hope this helps.

This sounds similar to what happened to my F250.
There is a hydraulic hose that came loose, and my clutch stuck to floor w/o me being able to shift. Its a simple fix, just connect the hose back and tighthen the seal, but can be costly if you get someone else to do it since its pretty dug in deep and takes time to reach it.
