I was in the exact same situation. I went to a different school that I knew was better for me in the long run even though I only knew a couple of people who go to the same highschool I go to now, but I hadn't talked to them. Honestly, it was sorta depressing the first quarter, but wow, I'm so glad I'm here. I've met sooo many people and I'm having such a great time. Don't stress on making friends. Generally everyone's really nice and if you're going to be in a club or sport (which I recommend) you're going to meet a lot of people. The majority of the people I hang out with are from tennis, and their friends which have become my friends.

Good luck with everything. It'll turn out okay.

Friends. Yeah yeah college blah blah blah. unless your planning on going to Yale, It shouldn't matter between nearby schools. And what fun is being on the basketball team or chess club or whatever without a friend with you? Our middle school split to 2 different high schools. I was one of maybe 5 of us that went to the small school. It sucked. I had to completely make new friends. Yes, I like them, but I didn't get to keep my old friendships as close as they once were, no matter how hard i tried.

Go to the better school. You'll be better prepared for College/ life and won't really talk to many High School friends more than five years out.

Go to the better school. I went to a not so great school and have paid dearly. I had no clue how to study in college. You will make new friends and keep your old ones, if in fact, they are true friends. You could have the best of both worlds; a better education, new friends, AND keep your old ones.

Unless you think you'd have a major problem fitting in without your friends, go to the better school. You usually don't stay friendless very long.
