about 3 months ago i hurt my hip flexor i strained it and i went to pt and i thought it had gotten better so i stopped going and now it got worse, the pain is worse then before and im going to pt but what casued this and how can i prevent this from happeneing and i play soccer btw

Any injury to a muscle can cause problems especially if you did not continue rehab. Doing p.t. and following their instructions is the best thing to do. You know soccer is lots of fast starts, stops, and changing directions. It is easy to injure yourself. Keep doing the rehab and exercises. To prevent this in the future strengthen your core muscles, warm up properly, and cool down and stretch.

Lester had a good answer, the only thing I would add is this:

always remember that pain is the last symptom you'll notice and the first one to go away. an absence of pain does not equate with an absence of an injury. Don't quit treatment just because it doesn't hurt.
