What does age have to do with it?

Age is not the issue.
If it's time to move on - do it.
Don't use age as an excuse here.
If that's a big hang up for you then it sounds like you have issues you need to contend with and don't really want to let go.
I would really step back and look at things objectively.
Will you be better off? Will they be better off?
If you are married then I would get professional counseling.
If you are not married it's time to get counseling anyhow.
If you are certain this is the wrong thing for you - be gracious, not bitter, and move on.

I don't know, but I am only 6 yrs. younger than my ex-hb. It was hard whether the age difference or not.

It's hard because when men are older,women used to see a father in them! I guess ..........
