No, a university education is not worthless.
Whether a vocational education is better depends on what you want.
I highly recommend your at least trying university. The schooling you're had so far has not, by and large, been educational.
You probably don't know what it's like to enlarge your mind by learning interesting things, and learning how to use your mind to understand the world.
If you hate it, you can always quit and go another route.
You may be assuming that the only value in a university education is money. Although, on the whole, those with 4-year degrees make more than those with vocational training, that isn't what's MOST valuable about it.
Suppose that there's a subject that, when you learn what it's really about (as opposed to what's it's seemed like in your schooling so far -- VERY DIFFERENT THINGS), you just completely fall in love with it; can't get enough of it; are thrilled to devote your working life to it.
You can't imagine the joy and fulfillment that can give you.
But you'll never know if you don't check it out.

No education is worthless. Even if you later decide to get a job in an unrelated field, you still have the knowledge you gained while studying and the friends you made. Going to a university is also a great maturation process--a time when you start making independent decisions, meeting people different from those you knew in high school. If you are interested in a job that requires a university degree, go to college. If you are interested in doing things with your hands, go to a vocational school.
