How do eating disorders affect fertility?

Eating disorders, particularly anorexia, affect fertility by reducing your chances of conceiving. Most women with anorexia do not have menstrual cycles, and approximately 50% of women struggling with bulimia do not have normal menstrual cycles. The absence of menstruation is caused by reduced calorie intake, excessive exercise, and/or psychological stress. If a woman is not having regular periods, getting pregnant can be difficult.

Yes, you should not try to have a baby if you have an eating disorder becauseit can harm the baby. Not only that, but emotionally you would obviously not be ready.

I dont think that being bulimic affects the womans ability to conceive.Their problem is more on distorted body image and low self esteem.Maybe being fat or obese with hormonal imbalances contributes why you cant have a child or it is difficult for you to have one.

I'm pretty sure it can cause problems. My mom was anorexic and stopped menstruating for a while, so I'm guessing being bulimic can cause the same thing
