Sorry, I love to read books but I have seen many times questions about "Clique Novels." What are they and who wrote them?

the clique series, by lisi harrison
they are a series, mostly for girls, that portrays a mega-popular clique that the whole school 'worships'. the new girl comes, happens to join this clique, is intimidated by them... the usual cliche stuff.
there seems to be a lot of controversy on this subject, and I agree with the people saying that this book sends the wrong message. although from my summary above it seems like a pretty decent series, the popualr clique is shallow, materialistic, and superficial, relying on designer brands, money, and male attention for popularity. The new girl, Claire, who I thought at first was going to rebel against this clique and cause a revelation to spread throughout this school, seems fairly content with the dumb ways these girls act, and is always striving for their attention.
this book, also badly written, basically says to readers that it is impossible to be well-liked unless you have lots of money and a pretty face.

to be honest (and totally harsh) i hate this series, and i hate how the girls at my school are obsessed with it; and i hate the fact that they are beginning to act like the mean girls in this book.

They are girl books. Well, books about girls. They're by... someone.. cant recall the name it escapes me... but just look up Clique on amazon.com and get an answer there... an exact one.
