Almost all HP laserjet drivers are interchangeable. Just use one of the built in laserjet drivers.

I would go to HP's website. They are a MS preferred partner,
they had access to vista when it was code named, so they could write drivers for it; and they've probably got a brand new driver you can download.
Failing that, tell Vista you want to pick the printer, a lot of laser printers from HP will function with drivers for less capable printers, you just lose the 'bells and whistles'. This is especially true if the printer is a post script printer.
Or, My local target had a $25 printer - get one of those until a driver IS ready for your whizbang printer.

There are not any upgraded drivers yet - HP are dragging their heels as known - Vista does have a outfitted in application application (won't have the ability to recollect what it is coz i've got moved various stuff off the stress) that tries to stress older non compliant application to artwork - you will might desire to locate it on yours making use of start up menu and checking each and every of the Microsoft bits - it rather is the only factor i will recommend at present - different than chasing up HP each and every of the time by digital mail. They ain't the brightest stars interior the night sky to be truthful

Right-click on the executable and click 'Run as administrator'. With Vista, even if you are an administrator, some applications don't automatically ask for administrative access to the system through User Account Control. Fix this by right-clicking on the drive the install disk is in and going to 'Explore'. Find the 'setup.exe' file, right-click and go to 'Run as administrator'. This should fix the problem.
Also, Vista drivers for the device are located here:
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareIndex.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodNameId=1845552&prodTypeId=18972&prodSeriesId=1845551&swLang=8&taskId=135&swEnvOID=2093
Lastly, from the information I gathered on the support site for the device, it seems it connects to the system using USB 2.0 - which is well-supported by PnP. It may be possible to simply plug in and turn on the device. Vista may have functional native drivers for it.
Good luck.

Nope, your going to have to wait until hp has that patch download up, they should have it up soon, they are pretty good at getting that stuff up.
It would have been wise to wait six month until playing with vista, due to the fact that many programs and devices aren't playing nice with it.

Sounds like a permissions issue. Go into computer management and check to see the permission settings for installation of signed/unsigned drivers. It should be set to administrator.
