As you can see, I need solid pitching, starting and closing. All I have for closer is Adam Wainwright and D-Mat is unproving.

As you can also see, Manny Ramirez being traded away will not do anything to my defense or offense, as I have Aramis Ramirez, Gary Sheffield, Hanley Ramirez, and David Ortiz on my roster.

I haven't made any offers yet, but I'm thinking of giving Manny away for maybe Webb and Oswalt or something like that.

Looking at the talent available in your league I say no way! there are some pretty darn good pitchers available I would look there 1st the three I would target are John Main NYM he is starting this yr and very good, Greg Maddux SDP pitching in that pitchers paradise he will do as well as last yr if not better and Kei Igawa lot of upside and will get a ton of run support last I would look at Anibal Sanches FM . I have won my share of fantasy leagues and your suggestion is just not warranted at this point have patience. let the season develop to see your needs use your watch list to keep an eye on targets is my advice. there is no need to trade top talent away at this point in the season. you are a little weak in relief but there will be opportunities for new closers as there are every yr a lot of current closers are on shakey ground and who knows what will develop. let the season tell you the moves to make now is not the time. rp to keep an eye on rodney in dtroit stanton in cin who knows in fla.
In the end trading a top 10 fantasy player for a starter or reliever makes little sense a hitter contributes every day a starte 1-2 times a week. the only starter i would trade manny straight up for is santana and most won't trade him even though that deal is fair.
Enjoy your season and remember you don't need to be geed in every area just more areas than your current weekly opponent makes no difference if you win 10 of 10 or 6 of 10 either way you win.

Sorry to be the one to tell you this, but Wainwright is a starter. He pulled a "Papelbon" and got moved to the starting rotation.

After looking at your waiver wire, there's still PLENTY of good SP's out there. After looking at your team, though, your pitching staff does not need much help outside of getting a closer.
For SP's, Anibal Sanchez is someone you should give a GOOD look at. Nate Robertson is another avail on the waivers. Westbrook is in a contract year with some pretty good run support behind him.

For RP's, Capps will more than likely be closing for Pittsburgh.

Also, you can probably unload Kearns to the waivers for one of the afforementioned pitchers (seriously, look at Anibal Sanchez!). He just doesn't have the same bat since he moved from Cincy to Washington. See if you can't work him into a trade with someone like Millwood or Lilly for a top tier closer, then go after Sanchez. It might seem like I'm hung up on him, but take the time to look him over and you'll see that I'm not talking out of my .....

So after the long-winded explanation, keep Manny on your team, enjoy the HR/RBI boost, and look at the waivers.

Of course, these are just my opinions. Good luck to you this season.

Wow, i visit't have self assurance what number of human beings have self assurance it is a sturdy commerce for you. i'd not even imagine about doing this commerce, and that i do not even imagine some thing else of my team is a ingredient in this. you're giving up way too a lot to get Manny and Peavy. i do not imagine a lot of human beings know ways major Hanley Ramirez is. I had him very last year and that i sorely bypass over him this year. He performs shortstop and that's totally not straightforward to fill in the 50 sb's and one hundred twenty runs he will have, plus upload on the actual undeniable actuality that he will hit over 20 hr's this year. also, as a further sidebar, Florida is at present experimenting with batting him third! pay attention if that occurs. he will upload 25 RBI's a year doing that and in undemanding words lose 10 SB's. guy Ram may settle on in August that he basically would not experience like taking section in and Terry Francona may ought to do some thing about it this year. He might want to throw a mood tantrum and say that he should be traded . . .and they could oblige and deliver him to the Royals. for sure, they positioned him on unrestricted waivers very last year and no individual needed him. i'd not attempt this commerce until eventually you acquire yet another accurate tier batter or pitcher instead of Youkillis and it may nevertheless be not straightforward to do it. sturdy success inspite of the actuality that.

I wouldn't do it, I'd scour the waiver wire, Manny is a top 20 player, I don't think those pitchers are worth it even if you need pitching.

See how the season starts, maybe someone else you have will have a hot start, increasing their value and then unload them for a decent pitcher. manny is too solid, you don't have that in many starting pitchers, those numbers you know you'll get (unless you could get Santana).

yes, manny is worth it, but why would u need good pitching with such a crazy offense

this league only counts points towards u, and cant take points away so just have relievers in RP spot and put SP in the P zone.

they u should have good pitching, but maybe manny if u really want pitching, in the league it looks as if hitting is more important
