there is a thing called hysterical pregnancy
Pseudocyesis also known as false pregnancy, can cause many of the signs and symptoms associated with pregnancy, and can resemble the condition in every way except for fetal presence. Other names include - spurious pregnancy, feigned pregnancy, imaginary pregnancy, hysterical pregnancy, wind in the bowels, phantom pregnancy and grossesse nerveuse ("mental pregnancy"). John Mason Good coined the term pseudocyesis from the Greek words pseudes (false) and kyesis (pregnancy) in 1923. False pregnancy is common in many mammals and is a method of providing milk for the group's offspring—most often cats, dogs, and rabbits

How nice of you to be worried for your wife's friend. Something else going on there? Just kidding...can't really say whats up without knowing if she missed her period or not. If so, could be a false neg. Tell her to make sure she's testing at least one day after the missed period. There needs to be enough horomone in her urine to be picked up by the test.

It could be 1 of these 2 things, Either she wants to be pregnant so bad that its making her have symptoms like she is or its too early to tell.

it could just be her thinking she is and her body reacting to that or she could just be sick.you might want to take her to the doc just to be on the safe side.
