Do you absolutely need the car rental for a week? Can you get rides from friends, co-workers, or family just for the time your car is in the shop?

You can get a rental for about $15 to $20 dollars a day. I have a feeling that you wanted a particular car? Shop around. Does your insurance company cover it? If the accident was not your fault, the other party can be liable for your rental expenses.

You say you have a baby, try getting into a "wic" program. They can provide you with a little help as far "food" vouchers for your family. $600 is not enough I think to pay bills, buy food, etc. This will help you in the long run.

For now, I don't know what to tell you. Try figuring out a bus route or take time off from work as paid vacation or sick time.

This can sure be very stressful for you. Don't be afraid to ask for help. Family members or co workers can sometimes pull strings for you. You will be surprise how some people will be willing to help you. Things will turn out for you.

I was reading your other questions. WOW. You need to get yourself together. Talk to family members or your best friends for support.

Good Luck

have a really good look at your weekly/fortnightly/monthly expenses. write absolutley everything you spend your money on, from groceries to the coffee on the way to work. cut out buying asnything that isn't absolutley essential to living. it sounds amazing but by taking your lunch to work each day you can save a fortune as well. If your baby is 8 mths old, s/he would be on solids by now. Instaed of buying baby food, make it. Puree vegies and fruit (and they're better for your bub too, no added colours/flavours/preservatives). There's heaps of other things you can do too such as catching public transport but that depends on your location to amenities and work. google budgets or similar keywords and you should find a number of sites to help you. I really wouldn't advise getting any kind of loan beacuse, even though it'll fix the car, the repayments and interest will eat into your earned wages. if you send the car to a reputable repairer, do they supply you with a courtesy car? that could be worthwhile looking into as well

Will your insurance cover the rental? Could you take the bus? There are ways to cut back expenses. Cut out everything except absolute necessities for a while.
